her Strip Oddities

If you don’t catch a glimpse of the oddest things around Vegas yourself… there’s no shortage of stories to hear from some other local. Like one of the first stories we’ve heard…

It’s broad daylight:: Picture an average-looking, young couple asleep on a grassy mound next to the Las Vegas Blvd sidewalk. Beside the sleeping couple sits two of those GIANT plastic drink cups (the Vegas kind of cups that come with a necklace and when hanging from your neck the cup extends down to your knees) AND, also next to the sleeping couple… a good pile of shopping bags full of newly purchased merchandise. We’re talking like Juicy Couture, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein shopping bags! What happened next… only those two could tell you what it felt like then they woke up from their sunny afternoon naps?!?

In a somewhat similar vain, have you heard of the new ballet flat vending machines that you can now find around Vegas. There seems to be a late night trend of barefoot walking throughout the Strip… I might even start collecting images of cocktail dress clad woman carrying their high heels just to prove this point… Such as:

Most importantly, for all the woman looking to remedy their sore feet after a long night of clubbing, gambling and what not… please, you don’t have to walk barefoot anymore. Step right up to the Rollasole vending machine, and for a mere $20 save your feet from the dirty concrete of the Vegas strip.

Yet again, additional proof that this grand removal of shoes is DEFINITELY happening… though I can’t explain the large amount of hiking boot or tennis shoe-like markings we see here?!? Men, why are YOU taking your shoes off too?

And finally, to close out the firsts in my odd discoveries of the Vegas Strip; Introducing the sleeping slot machines. Maybe someday you will have the joy of being played, but for now you’re just meant to be looked at from the other side of the velvet ropes. Sleep tight.
